Can anybody tell me where this hat is from? I'm assuming it is from someplace in Asia since there was also a conical hat there.. I picked it up at a GoodWill store today. I'm pretty certain it is handmade since it has numerous irregularities and no tag of any kind. But I have never seen anything quite like it before.

"My feet are bigger than yours"
You know what they say about beauty, right? I pulled up in the driveway Tuesday morning and saw this little guy proudly standing his ground in front of my garage door. It was already 102 degrees out. I went inside to get my camera and came back out thinking he would probably already be gone. Nope! Still there. So I put a little cup of water out there for him, too. I think he is a boat tailed grackle...in which case, he is probably actually a she since the males are black and the females are brown.

Our new business cards have arrived. This is one of the five templates in the set. But each of the templates is done the same way, with the full color image on the front of the card and the faded reflection on the back with all of the text. It's a whole new look for us. What do you think of it?

Little boys and playscapes!
A little departure from my normal processing styles. This is Sam, Mena's big brother. Normally, I clean up smudges on toddler faces. But I left the smudges on Sam's face this time. I thought they were just too endearing to touch up. What little boy on a playscape has a clean face anyways?

Thank you for all of the wonderful comments on Mena's picture yesterday. She is a joy to have in my life and I love taking her picture and sharing it.
When Kristle was over the other day, we made butterscotch coconut cookies that I am going to send to a friend in Arizona. Of course, my little helper got to have a couple of them too.

I couldn't help but give this one the vintage treatment. Although this has the look and feel of a portrait, it's really just a snapshot of our Goddaughter, Mena, at play. We posted a picture of her being baptized on May 27th.
