Hello friends. Recently, I left a comment that was intended to be a compliment but very much upset one of the members of our group. After taking a few days to think about how to handle the situation, I came to the conclusion that I should not just disappear from this group which I treasure so much. However, I am going to refrain from commenting on images. If I say nothing, I can't say the wrong thing. Rather than commenting, I am resorting to the "thumbs up" style of rating. While I am not commenting, please know that I am looking at your images and rating my favorite 10 images each day with a "thumbs up". I've also changed this gallery to journal style. Do not feel the need to comment. If an image is particularly impressive and you really feel compelled to comment, you can click on the image and then on "details" to get a prompt to comment.
My deepest heartfelt apology goes out to the member whom I offended even if he never reads this.

Guess what we had for dinner....nah, not really. But it was an interesting kick off for Thanksgiving day. David said the poor guy ran up to the side of the road, waited till the car was close enough, then jumped in front of it. Does this qualify as assisted suicide? David and the kids were on the way to Mass when this happened. So they didn't stay around long. I had stayed home with a head ache. So the picture of the deer was taken about an hour and a half after the accident...just long enough for a vulture or two to have found something to be thankful for.
Happy Thanksgiving everybody! You are a bushel of peaches!

This is a reworking of my smootching vultures. I used selective coloring to mute the vibrant green background, saturated the colors in the birds and sharpened the image in "unsharp mask" in PSE. The original image is at

The past couple of images are reworks because I am working on refining my images based on suggestions from other photographers. I hope you enjoy the reworks. Please read my new gallery description. Thanks. :)

A real smug mug for SmugMug :D
Dominic and Andrew tested yesterday for their 2nd degree black belts. They don't have the results of their tests yet. But if this face is any indication of how Dominic did, I'd say he's getting the new rank.
This shot was actually taken during the work out before the testing. The Master was playing around with the students and told them to "pose like this". So Dominic served up the pose...with a side of confidence.
Picture taken by David.
Post Processing done by Jacci. (Muted background to make subject pop out).

Who knew Austin was so rustic?

I found out two things today.
1.) The Loch Ness monster is really a giant goose. (It's just that Scotland geese are bigger than Canada geese.)
2.) Geese have very sharp teeth built right into their beaks.
Don't tell a Canada goose about the Scotland advantage. He might bite you.

Future Investment Expert? Maybe. This is Dominic doing his accounting. I knew he would like this course. He has always preferred consistency over adventure. He is a young man after my own heart since my degree was in accounting. Looks kind of like a Chrales Schwab commercial, huh?

Cattails
A desperate one for today. I'm down with a cold. Yuk.

This is why Tiny and Tino love Celine so much. She's the one who usually takes them for their walks (no matter how difficult they make it for her).

Ruffled
This is Freckles, our Cockatiel. HIs featheres are a little ruffled after a number of flashes in his face. This is a macro, so the flash is on 1/2 power only inches from is eyes. But he's still a good sport.
