The Baby Shower Princess
Celine and I went to a baby shower yesterday. This little girl was the life of the shower. She was an angelic helper, sorting the gifts, keeping the ribbons, bows and decorations and making sure the new mommy had all the help she needed opening the big packages.

David's mom is a 3rd order Carmelite. Last night was the 20th anniversary celebration of the founding of the local Carmelite community. If you have ever wondered just how powerful prayer really can be, just get to know this group.

Sunset on Cattle
This is one of my neighbors. This is the only place I have ever lived where I can call my neighbors cows without insulting them. (Photo taken by Jacci.)

The Return Visit to Krispy Kreme
One of these days, I'm going to bring IHOP to the dailies. But until then, enjoy the sweet life. (Photo taken by David.)

Twins! Nah, not really. It's just one Rowan. But she was just as surprised as if she had just found out she had a twin. I took this shot a couple of months ago before we had the software to clean up the noise on low light photos. Yesterday, I got cortisone shot number two in my neck. So while the sedative was wearing off, I pulled up this photo and cleaned up the low light noise. I hope this moment with Rowan makes you smile like it makes me smile.

Traditional Mexican Dancer
I grew up in the Mid-West. So I never experienced the traditional Mexican dances as a child. But I have lived in the South West most of my adult life. How could you not love a sweet face like this all dolled up for a special occasion?

Last night we said goodbye to a friend who has touched our lives in unimaginable ways. Until earlier this summer, he was the pastor of our parish. His retirement party had been planned for the end of June, shortly after his 50th anniversary as a Priest. But when his sister in Ireland passed away in June, he went to Ireland for her funeral and his retirement party was postponed until last night. We made a book on behalf of the people of our parish and presented it to him at his party. It contained pictures from the past few years and a poem that we wrote for him:

What Can a Hand Do?

This hand can pour over my soul refreshing waters and welcome me into God’s family…
This hand can sooth my troubled heart with the gentle touch of absolution…
This hand can prepare for me the only feast that will satisfy my hungry soul…
This hand can convey the gifts of the Spirit that will guide me through all of my joys and trials…
This hand can bind my hand to the loving hand of another for life…
This hand can bring God’s healing to my body and soul even when all other sources of healing have failed…
…Because fifty years ago, this hand was anointed to do these things for me…
…And this hand has given its life in loving service so that...
I can be a part of God’s family…
My soul can be cleansed before God…
I may have the Comforter to guide me…
My hunger for God may be satisfied…
I may not have to walk through life alone…
And my afflictions may never oppress me to the point of despair.
Thank you Father Joseph Deane.
Your hands have touched my life.

Last night when I was talking on the phone with our daughter in law, she reminded me of how long it has been since we have seen our grandson, Jimmy. I really miss our little man. He was eight months old when we last saw him. He is sixteen months old now. I took this picture of him eight months ago and did a little PP work last night to darken the background. I sure would love to crawl on the floor again for another picture or two of our Jimmy.
