Congressman Lloyd Doggett Constituency Meeting
On Saturday, August 1, 2009, Congressman Lloyd Doggett (D-TX) appeared before his constituents in the entrance to a local supermarket to hear what they had to say about HR3200 (the health care reform bill). Although this event was not widely publicized outside of liberal publications, there was still a fair turnout, mostly of people who opposed the health care reform bill.

In the midst of an unfriendly crowd, the congressmen caught a glimpse of me and my camera. His smile seems less than confident but not quite insecure. Very few people in the crowd maintained an unbiased appearance. I hope that I was able to capture the true tone of this event and not just relay my own agenda. The congressman has expressed his intent to vote in favor of HR 3200 (the proposed health care reform bill) while his constituents have expressed their desire for him to oppose the bill.
