10-08-2009 Emptiness Poor Tino. You haven’t been fed in hours. Hey, wait just a dog gone minute! That’s not your bowl, Tino. That’s Tiny’s bowl. Why are you walking around with Tiny’s bowl again? Actually, Tino does this every day. He used to carry his own bowl around. But a couple of years ago, we bought him a new one that is shaped in such a way that he can’t quite bite onto the rim of it. His first attempt to get our attention is usually to nudge his own bowl across the floor. This process is loud and obnoxious. But if we manage to ignore it for more than 15 minutes, he gives up. Then he finds Tiny’s bowl and starts carrying it around the house. Every once in a while, he takes it to the kitchen cubbard, sets it down and starts scratching at the cubbard. When that doesn’t work, he takes it to the family room, lays down in front of the fireplace and looks as sad and pathetic as he possibly can. I have no idea why Tiny tolerates this. I guess she too can tell the difference between a full bowl and an empty one.
10-07-2009 Seeing Eye to Eye I have to apologize for the quality of this shot. It's not bad, but could have been more crisp had I used the 50mm lens. But then I'd have to be really close to my friend here. I have a healthy respect for the rest of the bees that were buzzing about my rosemary. I've never been stung. But since both of my parents were allergic to bees, I'm not quite ready to lean through several bees to get a clear shot of their sister. Ain't she pretty though?
10-06-2009 We've got a story to tell. Today, I took Celine to the Bob Bullock Texas History Museum. There were a lot of camera worthy displays there. But upon my first attempt at taking a picture, I was approached by an employee who informed me that there is no photography allowed. I was kind of surprised. Most museums don't allow "flash" photography. It seems they don't want any help telling their story. Oh well. I guess I'll just have to share the parking garage display.
