04/08/2010 Before I lived in Texas, I thought that Texans were just arrogant. But now I live here and I get it. I am absolutely convinced that Texas Hill Country is the most beautiful place in the world.

04/08/2010 ***Get a room! ***Mating Giant Leopard Moths and the eggs they left behind... Russell was startled by the unusual looking insect on our door jam. But upon a closer look, we realized that it was a pair of mating moths. Later in the day, when we returned to inspect the door jam, we found the eggs the pair had left behind. Together, the pair was just over three inches long. The egg patch covered about the same amount of space as the pair had covered together.

04/07/2010 ***Today is my grandmother's birthday. She would be 92 years old if she had not passed away 31 years ago. I was in my early teens when she passed away and I recall the day vividly. I also have a vivid memory of her. I recall her face, her voice, her fragrance...her love. One of my favorite memories of her is when she sat on the wooden swing with me in her back yard in the spring time. So yesterday, when I saw this rustic bench overgrown with bluebonnets, naturally I thought of Grandma. I hope that my processing conveys the nostalgic feeling that comes when I am reminded of her. Happy birthday, Grandma. Your memory is still a perfect image and fragrance in my heart.
