03/15/2010 The Texas state flower has begun to show its color! This is the first of the Blue Bonnet buds in our yard to start blooming. By morning, it will likely be in full bloom. By mid-week, there will be a sea of blue all over the Texas landscape.

03/12/2010 House Finch...and I can say this with a great sense of victory. I have been seeing these cute little guys for about a week now but didn't know what they were. Although this is not the best shot, it is clear enough for me to be able to identify him by comparisons to field guide images. :)
